HQIS students take to the streets to learn more about the city's past, present, and future from the view of its citizens
Hoa, Tina, and Vang
These girls unearthed a really interesting collection of historic photos of the city. They also present beautiful architects' sketches that give us a preview of coming attractions in Danang. After the photos, they take us on driving tour of Danang. If you don't get motion sickness, you'll enjoy shots from Bach Dang St., the Con Market, and Nguyen Van Linh. Finally, these students introduce us to several people who share about their hopes and dreams for the future of Danang. (Vietnamese with English subtitles)
Julie, Jad, and Dory
First of all, Julie interviews her younger brother, who talks about what Danang was like when he was young, and about the water park he envisions in the future. Then, Dory interviews Quy Dong, a UD-UFL student. She focuses on Danang's present status as a popular tourist destination. Finally, Jad interviews a gentleman who tells about Danang in the past, then projects about Danang's future. (Vietnamese with English subtitles)
Chris, Pinky, and Phuong
With Pinky, we speak with a man who lives quite near the Luong Nhu Hoc campus of the university. He makes a clear comparison between infrastructure in the past and at the present. We also meet someone with a much younger perspective on the growth of the city at present. Finally, Phuong introduces the perspective of a high school student in order to hear his ideas about Danang's future. (English and Vietnamese, with English subtitles)
Kate, Nga, and Mary
Kate gets specific with a man working downtown near the Han River. She asks about social and environmental improvements, and changes in infrastructure and traffic safety in the last ten years. Nga then interviews a younger citizen of Danang. In a coffee shop, Mary talks with a third-year UFL student. And finally, we meet a foreign visitor to the city, who shares his perspective from years of visiting. These interviews are conducted in English and Vietnamese (no subtitles).
Kira, LK, and Kaze With great pictures and footage from the Han River, Kira interviews a man relaxing on a bench about the changes in Danang over the years. Then, the group talks to a few younger residents about Danang's future. (Vietnamese with English subtitles)
Kara, Jennifer, and My Also at the Han River, Kara starts us off with some background information about our lovely city. Then, she interviews a local worker about the river's history. After that, My speaks with a few local high school students. Finally, Jennifer speaks with a long-term visitor from Norway and wraps up their video back at UFL Luong Nhu Hoc campus.
